AUTHOR: Freida McFadden

WHY I PICKED IT: I plan on reading all her books.

THEMES: Past trauma, guilt, friendship, betrayal, trust, memory and survival.

FAVORITE QUOTES:

"After all, if you meet someone who is truly crazy, that’s the only way to know that you’re sane."

“I always made time to read. Whenever I pick up a book, it’s like an escape. For an hour or two, I get to be part of the book world instead of my own much more boring world.”

"How does somebody get to the point where their brain stops functioning like a normal brain? That their reality completely breaks from the reality that every other person in the world lives in?”

FINAL THOUGHTS AND REVIEW: Whatever Amy does in the book, I would've done the complete opposite. It's like your watching a horror movie: the main character hears some weird sound coming from a room and they just casually go ahead and checks it. I would've just locked the room from outside. Like why enter the danger zone? It's like I just would've told Amy "Nooo! Don't do that" or something. Seeing her make the awful decisions was just so uhhh. Even in the ending (Spoiler Alert!) she goes on a date with Will who before she suspected he was a patient with Schizophrenia. Like who would go out with a suspected patient? Sure they bonded over their favourite author, but still. He would give me the creeps and I would not date a suspected patient. But overall the book was okay.
