suprise at the door
A couple days ago, our brother Phineas came home. (He works in Bangalore, so he drops by for a couple of days sometimes.) Here’s how it went:
Caroline and I were sitting on the couch studying while everyone else was asleep. We heard the door opening and we got so scared cause like everyone was already home. Who would come at this hour? Then bro's head pops out and Caroline and I were like: 😳😮😲
He tells us to be quiet 🤫 so that he could suprise our parents too. He goes and taps mom (who was sleeping) then waves. Mom is all like "Huh? Whaaa.. realises I got so scared you didn't even tell me you were coming!!" Phineas chuckles and goes to suprise pops (who was also asleep) Mom goes, “Look who came! A special guest has come…” Phineas taps him, and pops is like: “What? Who came? …Oh, you.”
And then, life resumed 😌
Fun fact: he owns two phones (an Android and an iPhone) and a PlayStation. Like, whattt?! The last time he came (in December), he taught me how to play and it was SO fun. That December was just ✨magical✨ — I’ll tell you all about it another time.
FIRST DAY FEELS So college started recently, and tbh the first day was kinda eh. But during English class, our teacher made up for it by cracking so many jokes that by the end I had tears in my eyes — from all the laughter, of course.
She also dropped some deep quotes (wish I had written them down, but I guess I was just in the moment).
Later that evening, our priest came over to chit chat. And in the middle of the convo, he started cracking jokes and boy we were NOT expecting that.
One of them went like:
Priest: “......Life is beautiful.”
Ammachi: “Really?”
Caroline and I just lost it. Then:
Priest: “So are you coming for the meeting?”
Mom: “I’ll see... I asked my friends if they’re coming and they said no.”
Priest: “ Really? Who are your friends?”
Caroline and I just burst out laughing. [It might not be that funny here but it was hilarious at the moment]
After that we just had dinner and some leftover carrot 🥕 cake.
And just like that, it was one of those cozy, slightly chaotic evenings that make life feel full.
