18 🎈

On 14th midnight, Caroline and I went up to the terrace to celebrate our birthday. We had butterscotch and chocolate ice cream 🍨 along with cranberry beer (non-alcoholic). It tasted like fizzy cranberry juice 🧃 and it was pretty nice. It was just the two of us there. We ate, listened to some songs, lay back, and stared at the cloudless sky. The night was calm, and every now and then a cool breeze passed by as we looked out at the city 🌆. An hour later, we started feeling sleepy, so we headed back.

On our birthday morning, we woke up late and spent most of the time on our phones because we were bored. In the evening, we dressed up a little and went to church. After coming back, we had some chips and biscuits and replied to everyone’s wishes.

Our friends Lucy and Chloe had sent us an amazing chocolate cake. It felt really sweet and thoughtful, especially since we couldn’t celebrate together.

At night, Caroline and I decided to go to a nearby KFC. By the time we reached, it was closed (around 11 p.m.), so we ended up going to a nearby Burger King instead and had a nice meal.

Since we had recently shifted to Bangalore, away from our family and friends, the day felt a little sad. Caroline and I weren’t really looking forward to turning 18. To us, it mostly meant more responsibilities, pressure, and difficult decisions. Even though the day felt bittersweet, I was still grateful that we got to celebrate it in our own little way.
